I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada. I have lived in Alberta most on my 50 years of life. The weather here is unpredictable at best, and the older I get, the less I like it. Don't get me wrong, the summers are great. But they are too short! The snow usually lasts until March, and the actual true warm weather starts near the end of May. Then it can get extremely hot in June, July and August. The best thing, though, is the long evenings. During June, July and August, the sun does not set until 10 or 11 o'clock, and it rises at about 3:00am. I guess that makes up for having less than 8 hours of daylight in December! The winters are the most difficult for me. Such a short span of daylight can get on a person's nerves. An the temperature falling and staying below -30 degrees Celsius for weeks at time, makes me just want to stay in the house until spring. The problem is that I must go out each day and deal with starting my car and letting it run to warm up, and maneuvering icy streets and blizzard conditions.
